New Boots
Went to Cabela's today in search of a mix use boot. Something fully waterproof almost up to my knee, sturdy ankle support, and hiking book like traction. I found just that!
Got me a pair of LaCrosse® Men's AeroHead® Sport 3.5mm Rubber Boots in Brown with Realtree camo print. That way I can use them for hunting (once that comes), hiking, paddling, and still be able to attach crampons (have not tested yet). Just seemed like it bridged the gap for everything I do and want to do.
I then took them to a park on the Mississippi River. Hiked around the trails, up/down hills, balance walking on down trees, and playing in the water. Ended up spending 30-40 minutes with no upper layers in the water. 10 horse stance hold, other yoga poses, and just walking around. During on the the Warrior 2 poses, I dipped my one boot fully under water, which it filled a little bit up. Totally sucks, but was nice to know what it is like for when that event happens again. Played around in the water for another 10 minutes before I continued onward, wanted to check out two more landings. So I ran 1.3 miles back to my Jeep to hit the road.
Felt like I got a solid first test in these babies. Now to get them on an adventure and see what they can really do!
