Hill Annex Mine
Signed up for the last history tour on Friday. Had a little time to blow, so I pulled over at the closest waystop and had some fun with my Surreal Sunglasses. I then checked out the Clubhouse Museum, read up on my mine history, and hopped on the bus. I join a group of 6 kids (not all related to one another) and one of the moms. Our tour guide was a gentleman that actually worked the mine! Shared a ton of information and provided some inside stories about his time working the mine. Super awesome experience and he really made the tour for everyone. Gave us some pointers on blasting rock, drilling, using the big scoop, and so much more. With the only way to see the mine is via tour, I highly recommend taking the time and doing it. Learn about the rich mining history of northern Minnesota :)
