Texas Road Tripping
Fall 2016 I had the opportunity to travel for work. I was going to fly down to one of the manufacturing plants I work with. Plant was located in Lubbock, Texas. I was getting super into Onnit and was recent sponsored by them. So I had to check out the facility, but it was in Austin. I looked into how I could piggyback a jaunt over to Austin. I was flying out for Monday to Friday, but when you rent a car you get a 7 day option for cheaper. So I figured if I do that I could drive the 6-7 hours to Austin. I find out I would get hit with $150ish fee for dropping the car off at a different airport, but my flight home is $370ish cheaper. Needless to say, I got to Austin.
Lubbock Texas
Again, I was in Lubbock for work. So didn't get to much time to get out and about. Plus there was not a ton to do by my hotel.. Oh well, I had a blast at the plant learning and see the process of how they take a formula I put together for them to crank out feed for livestock like pellets, cubes, and blocks.
Hitting the Road to Austin
The night before leaving, I was looking for a sweet stop along the way to Austin. I came across Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Looked pretty sweet so figured that would be a great place to explore, grab some lunch, and hope to get to Onnit before they closed for a workout and meet people.
Austin
I was pretty much here for a day. I had a local tell me about a place to get breakfast the night prior picking up dinner. Had to check it out. Afterwards, I headed the Zilker Botanical Garden. It was hot a balls out. I spend a few hours sweating non stop before heading back to the hotel. I wanted a cold shower and a nap lol. Woke up around 4-5ish and decided I should go out and see what the capital was like and Historic 6th Street. Just happened to be a little festival and every cross street had a different band. Pretty entertaining to walk the streets, grabbed a pint, and headed back
